FREE Root Beer Float at A&W on August 6

National Root Beer Float Day is a much-anticipated event at A&W Restaurants, taking place on August 6 from 2PM to 8PM local time. On this special day, visitors can enjoy a free small Root Beer Float at participating locations. While the float is complimentary, donations to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) are encouraged.

The tradition of A&W’s Root Beer began with Roy W. Allen in Lodi, California. In June 1919, Allen introduced his creamy and refreshing Root Beer, served in frosty mugs, during a parade celebrating the return of World War I veterans. The drink, a unique blend of herbs, spices, barks, and berries, quickly became a symbol of celebration and camaraderie.

Over the years, A&W has continued to serve their signature made-fresh Root Beer in frosty mugs. On National Root Beer Float Day, the company honors its roots by supporting the homecoming of service members. Visit your local A&W on August 6 between 2PM and 8PM local time to join the celebration and contribute to DAV. Contact your local A&W Restaurant for specific promotion details.
